A Mountain Biking Adventure: Aware, Striking, and Enjoyable
This piece was a true feat of theatrical design, from the narrative structure to "The Thing" itself.
The centerpiece was a bike and it was a major part of this purely amazing show. I was stunned by the performance and feel compelled to tell everyone about it. The story makes perfect sense. It gave me the hope and drive to continue, which seems to be exactly the feeling that Penny Sterling intended for the audience to take home. Sterling is a phenomenal performer, remaining on the bike for the show's entire duration. I was spellbound by the magic of this performance and clapped until my hands hurt while cheering her on.
The lighting and music were the icing on the cake; the instruments were used in the most hilariously effective way. This is a perfect piece of art that deserves to be studied for being crazy in the best possible sense. I am grateful for artists like Sterling who can take unique art forms and transform them into magical experiences. I highly recommend this to anyone seeking a night of profound storytelling and a true hero’s journey. Despite the themes of pain and suffering, watching this was a rewarding experience. I honestly wanted another hour of that piano playing and music!
We seriously need more shows like this!
