Well, Life Sucks.

Thomas Ellenson is a multi-talented artist whose work reflects both resilience and heart. With a passion for performance and a drive to break boundaries, Ellenson continues to carve out space for himself and others in the world of theatre, bringing humor, honesty, and hard-won insight to the stage. This season, he presented his second solo show, Well, Life Sucks., at the United Solo Festival, an autobiographical piece that blends sharp humor and raw honesty to explore his life with cerebral palsy, his creative journey, and the unshakable spirit that defines his work.

Thomas Ellenson is not your average performer. Born with cerebral palsy, this native New Yorker has had his share of challenges navigating the difficult world of the performing arts. Ellenson has received extensive training and obtained a B.A in Arts Management from Suny Purchase College as well as a B.A in Theatre Management from Baruch College. He has also worked with the Creative Arts Team and The Barrow Group in NYC. Ellenson is passionate about performing and theatre in general. His show, It Is What It Is, premiered to praise and awards at the NYC One Festival, encouraging Ellenson to pursue this path further. This work has led him to roles on TV and in film. Ellenson also has an interview series where he speaks to different Broadway performers about their lives and careers. His United Solo Show, Well, Life Sucks. marks his second foray into the solo show world.

Ellenson is charming and witty, his writing is chock full of dry humor, and unsurprisingly Well, Life Sucks, received positive responses from its almost sold-out crowd. It is always a treat to see an unconventional performer take center stage and share their stories. Ellenson has the passion and drive necessary to have a truly incredible artistic journey ahead of him.
