Holy Sh*T: I Almost Died for This

If only we could all have Kristina Libby’s heart. Her story unfolds with openness and quiet courage, beginning with years of dating and the conviction that she had finally found her soulmate, complicated by the painful truth that he was married. What follows is not a tale of bitterness, but of reckoning.

A kite surfing accident and resulting brain injury force Libby to confront a terrifying loss of trust in her own mind. Healing comes unexpectedly through painting, and at the center of it all sits an unmistakable loneliness. The question the show keeps circling is simple and brutal: what happens when men let you down and life keeps moving anyway?

Libby finds her way forward by turning outward. She begins sharing stories with strangers across the city and creating flower hearts, small acts of connection that grow into something communal and sustaining. When she says, “The only way we make it through loss and grief is together,” the line lands with real weight. It lingers.

The show is honest about fantasy and disappointment, especially the danger of shrinking oneself for love that does not truly exist. Libby’s message is not preachy. It is earned. You are singular. Do not be your own oppressor. Allow yourself to be fully yourself.

A tender and quietly powerful piece about love, loss, and choosing connection over isolation.
