On Sunday evening, November 18, 2018, All About Solo was invited to attend United Solo’s Closing Gala for their 9th Annual Theatre Festival. The Gala was held at the Acorn Theatre of Theatre Row on 42nd Street in New York City. The event brought together theatre artists from across United Solo’s nine‑year history to celebrate this year’s festival participants. The top prize of the evening, the United Solo Special Award, was presented to Emmy‑winning actress and writer Renée Taylor for her solo show, “My Life on a Diet.” Our full video coverage is coming soon!
All About Solo was honored to attend and review so many of the 130 productions that United Solo presented in 2018 and looks forward to another exciting United Solo Theatre Festival this year. Pat McAndrew is a NYC-based actor, writer, and consultant. As an actor, he has performed Off-Broadway, Off-Off Broadway, and in various locations throughout New York City, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. His one-man show, REEL, was performed in the 2017 United Solo Theatre Festival and featured in the new documentary, Electronic Crack. Using his background as an actor as his foundation, Pat consults with individuals and organizations on how to communicate effectively and build deep, meaningful relationships in the digital age. He is the Founder of The Low Tech Trek, an organization devoted to discovering a better balance between human interaction and how we use technology.
